FREEDOM ORIGINALLY BAD REPUTATION FROM THE 1980'S

The band members are (left to right)
Jim Bartorillo (lead guitar), Gary O'Malia (bass), Larry O'Malia (rythym Guitar), Chuck Eckhart (keyboards)....in the foreground is Mike Pendolphi (drums). The band played classic rock (Kiss, Bryan Adams, Steppenwolf, Eddie Money, Molly Hatchet etc)...they formed around 1976
under the name Bad Reputation and changed the name around 1983 to Freedom after minor member changes. They disbanded around
1990. Recent efforts to reform the group were unsuccessful. They played a variety of high school dances....bazaars...and
bars included The Glowing Stump in Exeter, The Capri in Wyoming, Market St Square/ The Station in Wilkes-Barre, opened for
The Back Doors, Twice Shy, Blackfoot and others. They also played at Geoeff Bodine's cousins' bar in Narrowsburg, NY at least
twice. At one point they were managed by Eddie Day (Eddie Pashinski/Pa State Representative/Nanticoke). The band played nearly
every bar/venue that was open during the 80's in the area. The O'Malia brothers currently own and operate Larry O'Malia's
Greenhouses on River St in Plains. SUBMITTED BY: MARK KROSS
